LIFE CYCLE CARDS
Use these ‘Life Cycle Cards’ to inspire children to think about the growth of frog, butterfly and chicken. Ideal for a sub topic within ‘Spring’. These versatile cards are made with a tab which can be folded before lamination in order to strengthen the final product. This also means that when turned over, the picture on the front can not be seen. Why not use these cards as part of a ‘Life Cycles’ display or invitation to play? Can the children match the correct parts of each life cycle and then place them in the correct order? Perhaps the frog, butterfly and chicken could be placed on the table face up and the rest face down. Children could take it in turns to turn over cards and place them next to the correct creature. The cards could also be used as a basis for communication and language development, first naming the cards and then describing. More challenging questions could be e.g. ‘How do you think a butterfly moves?’ ‘How is that different to how a caterpillar moves? ‘
