‘Summer’ word mat. Why not use in conjunction with our ‘Summer’ word cards? Can be used as part of a display or activities. Endless discussions can be engaged in describing these Summer themed objects. For example colour, shape, what they are used for, where you might find them, etc. Older children can be challenged to further contemplate ‘how’ and ‘why’ questions building on these observations. For example ‘Why do you think someone might wear suncream?’…or ‘How do you build a sandcastle?’
